Medium: Collograph on 300gsm Fabriano 5 paper
Size: 35.5 x 50.5 cm (unframed)
Edition size: 6, variable
Made in 2022
This work is part of a series of collographs called Urban Wilderness.
The process (reclaimed plastic waste)
Plastic materials (mainly packaging) from grocery packaging are cleaned, reclaimed and collaged for creating the basis of an image, called the plate. The plate is then manually inked up and pushed through a press, with paper, to create the final artwork.
Please DM me on instagram @whereisfuture or send me an email to steph at andnand dot studio. I’d be happy to take some more photos for you or discuss options for custom/unique framing.
Custom/unique frames, if you choose to, will be made by the artist using reclaimed materials available at the time - it can be scaffolding board or previously damaged/used soft- or hard- wood. The wood will be reclaimed (cleaned/sanded/straightened) and the work will be mounted on acid-free mount board, with various options for a piece of glass cut to fit.
I have created a visual essay to document the experimental practice of care that is related to this work, available as a zine. Please check out my other listings. Thank you for your support.
